bullet

release version 2.54

Properties:

Bugfix release

bullet

release version 2.53

Properties:

The first Fully_Functional_Shareware release.

Strong encryption (level 4 or "Encrypt2" in docs) is now the default encryption level for all TextPads (including "MemoPad"!) instead of "Scrambling" (level 1), and is activated by tapping the locker icon in the lower right corner of the Edit screen. Skew-up on this icon displays the shortcut menu with "Scrambling" and "Encryption" options in case you need the old default Scrambling level.

Various bug fixes and enhancements added in VFS area, especially to the "Directory-mode" VFS support.

bullet

release version 2.49

Properties:

A new general property added - (Ask "QuickMemo=?" at entry). This one can be used to invoke QuickMemo feature easily if you have not a hard-key assigned to the AbcTextPad app. This could be accomplished using an external launcher app as well - any suggestions??...

Edit-mode Calendar icon:

A new YYYY.MM.DD HH:MM date-time insert option added - so that you can timestamp your memos for easy sorting regardless off the current regional setting in effect.

bullet

release version 2.47

ListView changes:

Up/Down buttons now have the auto-escalate to PgUp/PgDn on autorepeat option (hold the up or down key pressed for a second)

..probably this will cause the elimination of Left/Right - ByPage navigation altogether??

Left button activates TextPad selection (if enabled in properties)

Right button activates Category selection (if enabled in properties)

(both options are useful for both Treo and non Treo users with D(5way)-pads)

StyleTap detection and some ST platform corrections implemented (added delays, event queue clearing etc)

ListView Preferences pane changed

bullet

release version 2.46

ByPage mode now supports the WordWrap OFF (widescreen) option. You might find it useful if you have a 5-way navigator enabled device.

bullet

release version 2.45

Menu placeholders set up for all icons in Edit View

Long tap on an icon in Edit View now displays a menu (or a placeholder) instead of a general help text.

ASCII icon can now be used to perform block Uppercase/Lowercase ops.

Bookmark icon can now be used to set jump locations and execute a jump.

bullet

release version 2.44

Several users asked for something like this:

A new ListView property added: "Left/Right moves by page", that will help users who are not willing to assign a hard key to the AbcTextPad app. If this option is off, then the 5-way left keypress selects the category selector and right press moves to the "New" button (This behavior is more consistent with what Treo users would have come to expect from the Memos app). With the new FastFilter option built in, it may be less or not at all necessary to use the PgUp/PgDn navigation, and by using this approach it's easy and intuitive to go to the TextPads selection too. (You can move focus back to the list using Up/Down keys)

A new shortcut "V" is assigned to "Mirror to VFS" edit menu option.

T5 Landscape mode T&D icon support improved/bugfixed.

Clipboard preview list width increased to 12 chars.

Some more icons now have a menu assigned to "LongUp/DownSkew":

- Calendar icon (applying some short skews to insert date/time values)

- Undo icon can be used to "Undo All Changes"

- Find icon can be used to repeat last search using Previous/Next short skews

- Select icon can be used to "Select All", "Select Paragraph" or "Select Line"

bullet

release version 2.43

"Quiet Navigation" preference renamed ("Navigation Click"). "Keyboard click" checkbox added to "General" preferences tab.

 Fixed beep behavior (see bugfix.htm)

Found_count report changed not to report (a boring) "1 Found" in search_single_text mode.

Preset to a textpad (caps+letter) will now ask for a textpad category.

Skew-able (Tap'nDrag) icons feature introduced.

10 clipboards - being 1st to use the new Tap'nDrag icon feature. Tap one of the Cut/Copy/Paste icons and move stylus short way upwards to use AbcClipboard-0 instead of the default 1k Palm clipboard. Move stylus long way upwards to open the list of 0-9 AbcClipboards with start of their current contents shown (where "Short" means 5LoRes/10HiRes pixels or more and "Long" means 25LoRes/50HiRes pixels or more).

(You can suggest what would be your favorite functions to add to other icons in future releases! - Use the support forms/email)

bullet

release version 2.42

And... You'll gonna love it... A menu option added to assign a preset to the current textpad.

So now you can assign, say, "M" to MemoPad and "A" to AbcManual and switch from one to another by typing the capital "M" or "A" when in the list view.

Lower case characters start incremental search instead - the same behavior as in previous versions.

You can still assign capital letters and numbers to individual texts (presets) as well.

bullet

release version 2.41

Discard changes (Undo all changes) edit menu option added.

Note that this option will rewind all changes made in current editing session only (since the last "Text open" is preformed), and that pane switching and/or reopening the same text counts as "Text open" too.

You should enable this option in preferences (Edit tab) to be able to use it.

If you have VFS "Mirroring" activated, this option is equivalent to the "Reload Mirror" option.

Note too that you can still make a temporary backup at any time by using the "Copy to Unfiled" option.

bullet

release version 2.40

Fast text filter "In1stLine" mode symbol changed from "=" to "." and that should make more sense as this filter mode is actually

invoked by pressing a "." before entering the search text.

Added filter dialog button ("?") in Pads view.

Added some rudimentary pseudo color schemes:

 - ListView color scheme (Filter status visual clue and auto-colorizing categories)

 - EditView color scheme (ByPage/Edit mode visual clue)

Added uppercasing of accented chars (European etc) using both "Up-Skew" and capslock.

bullet

release version 2.39

Added "VFS" preferences tab, removed "Base Mirror Folder" menu options.

Added VFS Default Volume and VFS Default Folder settings in preferences.

Changed the way AbcTextPad autodetects external card VFS volume (using "automatic" setting). It now looks for a volume with "PALM" folder at the root directory level.

bullet

release version 2.38

AbcTextPad now tries to open new PIM ('PMem') Memos database first, avoiding the compatibility layer on newer PalmOS devices that has some inpact on the performance especially when databases have a large number of records..

Added Tungsten/T5 FileBrowser interface in "SaveAs" and "OpenFrom" dialogs.

Creating a new TextPad or Category in "Directory" mode will now create the appropriate VFS folder, thus avoiding unnecessary "Folder not found" error messages.

Abc numeric error messages relocated to 100-200 range.

bullet

release version 2.36

Added Directory Pad mode where texts are stored on VFS card and accessed as if they are stored internally.

Each text pad can now have a dedicated VFS folder (use absolute path - starting from the root folder as in:

"/My Documents/Jokes".

Added common preferences dialog. Now you can adjust all Abc Preferences form one place (except Kbd prefs).

bullet

release version 2.29

Added custom monospaced and proportional HiRes fonts incl. "Micro" font suitable for fast search & navigation.

And it grows again :)

Please Note: "Micro" font is not readable on LoRes devices!

Changed some demo release VFS & PalmDoc support limits (up to 4 texts using optimized VFS access).

bullet

release version 2.28

Added extra preferences (General Preferences in TextPads View) to allow ALL sounds to be turned off. (Note: Keyboard clicks are configured using the Keyboard Preferences Panel)

Better support of the 5-way navigator on treo/T5 devices (For example, when you continue to "scroll up" past the top of an open memo, it now highlights controls above the window)  (This added much more to app. size but... :(

Added extra preferences (General Preferences in TextPads View) to enable/disable or set level of the 5-way support.

Rearranged TextPads Menu and improved Pad-select processing.

Short help texts added to some preferences panels.

This release might reset some global app preferences (Please check settings using General/ListView/EditView & Keyboard Preferences Panels).

bullet

release version 2.27

320x480 display & screen rotation support. (Check screenshots page) (This added abt 2k to app. size but... :)

Splash screen removed from Registered version app. (Adjust system clock backwards to force the splash screen show up!)

This release might require re-registration (Just type in the reg-key you received with ABCTextPad).

bullet

Added title-line interactive mode filtering.
